Simplified Tianjin Travel Guide: Avoiding the Hassle

Upon receiving private messages from my Shudu friends, the majority inquire about straightforward routes without detours. Truthfully, there aren’t many destinations I frequent often, but I’ve compiled a list for your reference.

  • Jiefang Bridge and Shiji Zhong offer exceptional photography opportunities! I recommend visiting at night for a cooler atmosphere and a captivating ambiance once the lights are on. There are numerous photographers offering their services on the bridge, and their prices are reasonably priced. If you’re seeking photography services, I suggest seeking out female photographers as I’ve observed that their shots tend to be more aesthetically pleasing.
  • Minyuan Park is best visited in the afternoon or evening as the morning sun can be quite harsh, making photos less appealing.
  • Wudadao is a vast area worthy of a whole day’s exploration. If you’re feeling weary, you can opt for a retro tricycle tour. However, I’ve noticed that the drivers tend to rush through the tour to accommodate the next customer, leaving little time for a leisurely exploration. Nevertheless, if you’re traveling with elderly or young children, this could be a convenient option.
  • Daguangming Bridge has been a popular spot for photo shoots with various poses shared online. However, I personally feel a bit uneasy standing on the steps due to my fear of heights.
  • Tianjin National Ocean Museum is a magnificent structure, exuding a strong sense of technological advancement. Surrounded by water on three sides, the ripples created by the wind give the water a silky and ethereal appearance. Inside, the museum is divided into three chapters, each building upon the previous one. Personally, I’m partial to the first chapter. The cafe located downstairs offers a picturesque backdrop for photos. Remember to make advance reservations through the VX mini-program as tickets are highly sought-after! The museum is located relatively far from the city center, and I personally took the subway line 9 (costing 9 yuan) followed by a taxi ride (costing 20 yuan). There are also tourist buses available, but I was pressed for time.
  • A visit to Tianjin is incomplete without a trip to the Cultural Center, renowned for its serene environment. Locals frequently visit this area for camping and other outdoor activities. The center boasts a museum, art gallery, and concert hall. Although I only had time to explore the museum, I found it to be a place worthy of frequent visits. Simply scan the QR code at the museum entrance to make a reservation!
