Exploring Jincheng, Shanxi: A Relaxing Alternative for the May Day Holiday

Embarking on a journey during the May Day holiday, I seek to avoid the crowds of popular cities. Jincheng, Shanxi, seems like a promising and serene alternative. Here’s my itinerary:

Situ Town: Primarily renowned for its ironwork displays. If it’s overcrowded, I wonder if Dayang Ancient Town could serve as a worthy substitute?

Huangcheng Manor: Would it be advisable to hire a tour guide for a comprehensive understanding? I’m also concerned about the potential crowds.

Baima Temple Forest Park: As my accommodation is nearby, I’ve heard rumors of direct vehicular access. However, the staircase depicted in photos is quite intimidating.

④ If time permits, I also intend to visit Xiangyu Ancient Castle.

Lastly, what culinary delights does Jincheng offer? I’ve seen that Ten Small Bowls is a must-try, and I’m eager to hear more recommendations. I’m open to suggestions!
