As we embarked on our drive to the hiking trails of Shaoxing, the scenery unfolded before our eyes in a captivating display.
Passing through the scenic “Shensong Line” and approaching the “Wuwang Temple”, we were greeted by a verdant hilltop, reminiscent of the white cliffs of England (albeit with a touch of exaggeration, I hope you indulge my poetic license). At first glance, it appeared to be a lush carpet of grass, but in reality, it was a tea field, offering a stunning backdrop for photography.
As we continued deeper into the countryside, the scenery continued to impress. While you may not have traveled specifically for this one location, I encourage you to explore the area further and broaden your experience. Consider embarking on a road trip to admire the cascading waterfalls, ancient streams, and cliff-side villages, all part of the idyllic rural landscape.
The villages offer convenient amenities, including restaurants and public transportation, making it easy to explore the area. Additionally, a hike to Xibaishan Mountain, where you can visit the scenic Fragrant Torreya Forest, offers the opportunity for an overnight stay (stay tuned for a detailed itinerary in my next post).
