When planning a trip for primary school students, Beijing is undoubtedly a must-visit destination. However, navigating the city’s attractions and transportation can be quite challenging. Ticket reservation systems, traffic congestion, and the need for meticulous planning often pose obstacles. Nevertheless, with careful consideration and preparation, a memorable and enjoyable journey can be achieved.
After conducting extensive research and devising various strategies, I have crafted an itinerary that offers a balance between exploration and relaxation. This itinerary takes into account the varying interests and stamina levels of family members, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience.
ππ DAY 1: Nantong – Beijing Jinmao Renaissance Hotel – The Hamleys – Nanmen Hot Pot
ππ DAY 2: Military Museum – Fangzhuangchang No. 69 – National Museum of China – Tiananmen Square – Siji Minfu Restaurant
ππ DAY 3: The Forbidden City – Wanfu Jinchun Afternoon Tea at the Forbidden City – Science and Technology Museum – Xiaodiao Litang Restaurant
ππ DAY 4: Flag Raising Ceremony – Hotel Rest – Return to Nantong
Originally, the plan for Day 3 included a visit to Mutianyu Great Wall in the morning, followed by a trip to the Science and Technology Museum. However, considering the potential fatigue factor for children, I opted to secure tickets for two morning sessions at the Forbidden City, allowing for flexibility in our schedule. This decision proved wise as one of the children experienced motion sickness, necessitating a change in plans.
πππΊοΈ For reference, I have compiled a detailed Excel itinerary that includes all the necessary information for the trip. This document is available for download at the end of this post. If you require access to the Excel file, please let me know in the comments.
Throughout the journey, we were accompanied by two elderly family members and a young child. Despite the potential challenges, everyone expressed satisfaction and comfort with the itinerary. The favorable weather conditions during our stay in Beijing, coupled with our well-planned schedule, made the trip an enjoyable and memorable experience.
