Food Recommendations:
- Rolled Pancakes & Fried Cakes: Many breakfast shops offer fried cakes. Try Ear Canal Fried Cakes, Rongzhenzhai Old-fashioned Rolled Pancakes, and Pinghu Fried Cakes (West Lake Road Branch).
- Crispy Rice Sheets & Old-fashioned Tofu Pudding: Traditional Tianjin breakfast items. Crispy rice sheets resemble pancake rolls with soup, while old-fashioned tofu pudding is essentially salted tofu curd with gravy. Chenji Crispy Rice Sheets, Dafulai Crispy Rice Sheets, and Luoguo Old-fashioned Tofu Pudding are recommended.
- Mahua: One of the earliest and most famous Tianjin delicacies. Try Guifaxiang Eighteenth Street Mahua, Jinmaoxiang Old-fashioned Mahua Boutique, and Guishunzhai.
- Shuli Gao: Also known as Bowl Cake, it’s actually unrelated to pears. It’s a traditional folk snack in Tianjin.
