A Hidden Gem in Tianjin: The Charms of Zhonghua Stone Garden

The scenery here is truly breathtaking, and the visitor flow is minimal, offering a serene experience. I regret not preparing a photogenic outfit in advance, as the locale is ideal for capturing stunning images. Click, click, click – the camera loves this place!

Popular attractions like Wudadao, Tianjin Eye, and the Ocean Museum hold their own charm, but I prefer to avoid the crowds and explore lesser-known gems. This locale, with its dark and mysterious castle-like ambiance, is highly recommended for photography enthusiasts. Conveniently accessible via the subway, it’s a hidden treasure trove waiting to be discovered.

Location: Zhonghua Stone Garden

Transportation: Exit B of Lushui Road Station on Metro Line 6

Ticket Price: 20 yuan (no reservation required, no paper tickets)

While the park may not be vast, it boasts a unique charm that captivates. A leisurely visit, including photo sessions, would take approximately an hour or two. A highlight is the flock of pigeons, numbering over 200, that are fed by an elderly gentleman. His whistle commands the flock to whirl and soar, reminiscent of the Musical Fountain in Nanjing but perhaps offering even greater value for money. However, the infrastructure within the park leaves something to be desired, with several areas appearing abandoned, and no visible shops or vending machines. This could be attributed to the relatively low number of visitors; on weekends, there were only a handful of other tourists present. Nonetheless, I sincerely hope that this magnificent locale can be properly maintained and cherished.
