Ultimate Tianjin Travel Guide for a Day-by-Day Adventure

Embarking on a budget-friendly adventure in Tianjin, with an average cost of 200r per person, this comprehensive travel guide promises an exciting yet economical journey.

Day 1: Jinwan Square – Haihe River Cruise

The nightscape of Jinwan Square exuded the bustling charm of a metropolis. Pre-booking the Haihe River Cruise is recommended, especially for the evening tour. Ensure to check the timing to ascertain when the sky darkens. We opted for the Tianjin Station Pier, offering a captivating view of the city’s skyline.

Day 2: Kuanji Old Gate – National Ocean Museum

If staying in the downtown area, it’s advisable to depart early for Tanggu. Kuanji Old Gate, situated near the Tanggu subway station, served as our first destination. The Eight Delicacies Tofu and Ribs were impeccable choices, leaving no room for disappointment. Satisfied, we embarked on a journey to the National Ocean Museum, a breathtaking spectacle that is highly recommended for families, offering insights into marine wonders. The museum’s photo-worthy exhibits and a trendy cafe (albeit a challenging find) added to the experience.

Day 3: Five Avenues – Minyuan Square – Porcelain House – Zhang Xueliang’s Former Residence – Italian-style District – Ancient Cultural Street – Tianjin Eye

This itinerary, carefully planned after extensive research, offers a blend of cultural exploration and leisurely strolls. A combination of cycling and walking made the journey enjoyable and manageable. The Five Avenues revealed an array of charming Western-style buildings, ideal for photography. Minyuan Square, nestled within, provided a glimpse into the bustling heart of the city. The Porcelain House and Zhang Xueliang’s Former Residence, located in close proximity, were best explored on foot. A cycling trip to the Italian-style District revealed yet another photogenic locale, complete with an array of tasty street food. The Ancient Cultural Street offered a comprehensive selection of delicious snacks, with the Zha’erduo stand’s black sesame filling particularly noteworthy. The experience of sugar figure blowing was also a highlight. Lastly, a visit to Tianjin Eye, despite having already admired it from the river cruise, was a must for a memorable photo op. Engaging a photographer for affordable electronic copies and posing tips made the experience all the more enjoyable.
