Recording My Qingming Holiday Trip to the Surrounding Areas of Beijing

Capturing the essence of my casual yet unexpectedly delightful trip to the outskirts of Beijing during the Qingming holiday, I embarked on a journey filled with unexpected surprises.

Firstly, the commute was seamless. The high-speed train tickets from Beijing to Langfang cost a mere 30 yuan per person. Langfang itself offered a concentrated layout, with convenient transportation and a proximity to the high-speed rail station. Our accommodation, situated near Wanda, provided access to various amenities within a budget-friendly taxi ride of less than 15 yuan.

On Day 1, upon arrival, we indulged in a delicious hotpot meal from the Nan Restaurant at Wanda, priced at 119 yuan. The affordable yet satisfying meal left a lasting impression, with the staff even treating us to a scoop of ice cream.

After our meal, we enjoyed a three-hour karaoke session at a nearby venue for just 80 yuan. While karaoke in Beijing can be pricey and difficult to book on weekends, the sound quality at this particular venue was less than ideal, making it less than recommendable.

On Day 2, we visited the Liu Lao Lao Local Chicken Restaurant, where we savored delicious fried chicken and a tasty dish of vermicelli and scrambled eggs. Our total bill came to around 130 yuan.

After a brief rest in the afternoon, we ventured to the Dream of the Red Chamber Theater, which I consider one of the must-visit attractions in Langfang. We purchased tickets for the evening performance, priced at 98 yuan per person, which offered exceptional value. The water curtain and overall stage design were truly breathtaking, a testament to the brilliant direction of Wang Chaoge. In addition to the theater itself, the Drama Park boasts a vast area with numerous captivating installations and scenic locales to explore.

Following the performance, we indulged in a popular barbecue snack at a restaurant we had noticed on a previous day. The Old Shop Barbecue served up delicious grub, with the meat skewers being a particular highlight. Our meal cost approximately 120 yuan.

On Day 3, with no particular plans in mind, we opted to extend our stay due to the cozy atmosphere of Langfang. We spent the day browsing the bustling food street and boutiques near Wanda, capping off our evening with a viewing of Kung Fu Panda before taking a leisurely walk back to our accommodation.

Overall, Langfang exuded a charming and lively atmosphere, with each establishment we visited boasting warm and friendly staff. It served as a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of Beijing, offering a serene and relaxing getaway for a short break. I eagerly await the opportunity to revisit this delightful destination.
