From Wuhan to Wuhai: A Weekend Adventure in Inner Mongolia

Friday: Embarking on a Journey from Wuhan to Wuhai

Instead of clocking in at the office on a Friday afternoon, we were heading to the airport, eager to embark on a journey to Wuhai. Upon landing, we made our way to the Blue Dream Hotel for a relaxing afternoon tea, officially kicking off our Inner Mongolia adventure.

As evening approached, we were treated to a stunning sunset at the First Pier, with red-beaked gulls dancing in the sky. The scene was breathtaking, surpassing even the beauty captured on social media. Under the golden glow of the setting sun, we made our way to Sude Mengshi Hotpot, where the delicious yogurt and fiery hotpot exceeded all expectations. With a reasonable per-person cost of around a hundred yuan, we feasted to our hearts’ content.

Saturday: Exploring Laseng Temple, Sandboarding, and Enjoying Milk Tea

On Saturday, we woke up early to visit the serene and dignified Laseng Temple. The roundtrip taxi fare was approximately 260 yuan, but the tranquility and solemnity of the temple made it well worth the cost. After a quick meal at a nearby restaurant, we embarked on a thrilling sandboarding adventure. Our ride-sharing companions were delightful, and the cost per person was only slightly over a hundred yuan. The excitement of sandboarding left us screaming with joy, and the drone footage we received was truly cinematic.

In the evening, we visited the Toya Milk Tea House, where we indulged in the signature milk tofu and salty milk tea. These two delicacies are synonymous with Inner Mongolia and were not to be missed. Additionally, we made sure to attend a performance at the Qi Livehouse, where we were treated to a fascinating display of local wine culture.

Sunday: Lazy Mornings, Shopping for Specialties, and Returning to Wuhan

On Sunday, we indulged in a lazy morning before heading to the market to shop for local specialties. For early risers, a trip to the Genghis Khan Elephant to watch the sunrise was an absolute treat. After a satisfying lunch, we packed our bags and prepared for our return journey to Wuhan. Arriving back before nightfall, we capped off our perfect trip with a delicious barbecue.

Conclusion: Our weekend trip from Wuhan to Wuhai was an absolute blast! We not only immersed ourselves in the charm of Inner Mongolia but also enjoyed a plethora of delicious food. Stay tuned for our next adventure – we can’t wait to share it with you!
