Embarking on an unfiltered and authentic one-day journey through Ningbo, I found myself immersed in the city’s vibrant urban landscape, its attractions clustered conveniently together. The autumn sunshine was a perfect accompaniment, allowing for leisurely walks interspersed with moments of pause. Cycling was also a delightful option, and for slightly longer distances, the city’s extensive bus and subway networks provided convenient transportation.
My itinerary began with a smooth arrival at Ningbo Railway Station, exiting through the north entrance. My first destination was the renowned Tianyi Pavilion, followed by a stroll through the serene Yuehu Park. Next, I ventured to the Drum Tower and its surrounding walls, taking the opportunity to sample some of Ningbo’s famous street food. Passing by the City God Temple, I paused to admire the Tianfeng Pagoda before heading to the Pharmacy Road Catholic Church and the bustling Tianyi Square.
My final destination was the vibrant Laowaitan area, which boasted the Ningbo Art Museum, Catholic Church, and a lively bar street. As a word of caution, I must remind you not to overindulge in Ningbo’s culinary delights as I did, as my stomach certainly paid the price! Nonetheless, it was a memorable day filled with exploration and discovery.
