From June of last year onward, I have traversed countless unexplored territories and beheld numerous breathtaking landscapes. Below are nine magnificent tourist attractions that I have visited this year, each sharing an experience that always piques the curiosity of my friends on social media, wondering if I’ve crossed international borders.
- Si Rong Islands in Fujian: This untouched domestic archipelago remains a pristine natural wonder, akin to a real-life “Seldarine.” Its jagged peaks and verdant meadows complement each other, creating a breathtaking aerial view.
- Tianye and Jifeng in Hangzhou, Zhejiang: Dubbed the “Little Hokkaido of Hangzhou,” this Japanese-styled photography base nestled amidst pastoral landscapes offers diverse shooting scenarios, including stations, shops, cafes, and post offices. In winter, the snow-covered town transforms into a fairytale-like wonderland.
- Xiaoruo Village in Shitang, Taizhou: Among the most beautiful fishing villages in China, Xiaoruo Village, though not Italy’s Cinque Terre, is a unique treasure of Taizhou. As the sun sets, its colorful macaron-hued houses, the sea, and fishing boats create an enchanting landscape.
- Xiata in Yili, Xinjiang: Summer in Xiata is an ethereal paradise, where snow-capped mountains, lakes, forests, grasslands, and flower fields blend into a magnificent tapestry, reminiscent of Switzerland’s natural wonders.
- Binjiang Avenue in Pudong, Shanghai: During the day, sitting on a bench beside the green lawn feels like being in a French street, akin to the banks of the Seine in Paris. As night falls, the city’s lights twinkle, resembling a romantic scene from “La La Land.”
- Londoner Macao: The Londoner hotel district at night exudes luxury and dreaminess. Its red phone boxes, buses, and postboxes exude a strong British ambiance, making one feel like they’ve stepped into a European street. Every snapshot captures the essence of British charm.
- Bali Village in Wanning, Hainan: This park themed on Indonesian returned overseas Chinese culture showcases vibrant Southeast Asian flavors through its painted murals and stone carvings.
- Shiluokou, Weizhou Island in Beihai, Guangxi: Hidden deep within the sea, its clifftops and wave-eroded rock walls contrast sharply with the azure waters across the shore, creating a natural wonder comparable to America’s Antelope Canyon.
- Siguniang Mountain in Western Sichuan: Summer in Siguniang Mountain offers serene scenery. Overlooking snow-capped peaks, lakes, meadows, cattle and sheep, and small cottages, every vista feels like a slice of Switzerland.
These destinations, though within China’s borders, each possess unique characteristics that rival the charm of internationally renowned spots. Every journey is a spiritual cleansing, reminding me to cherish the beauty of this world.
