I was extremely fortunate to witness the sea of clouds hovering over Tianzhu Mountain, exclaiming its beauty countless times! This ancient peak, overlooked at an altitude of 1489.8 meters in Anhui, has been unjustly underestimated. Bai Juyi penned, “The peak of Tianzhu holds up the sun and moon, its caves locked by clouds and thunder.” Li Bai praised, “The peculiar peaks bear peculiar clouds, the lush trees exhaling elegance.” The magnificent scenery of its jagged peaks, sea of clouds, valleys, and caves is truly breathtaking! It’s no wonder that fantasy martial arts dramas choose to film here; it’s indeed an overlooked paradise on earth! Location: Qianshan, Anhui – Tianzhu Mountain.

Must-visit Highlights: π 1. Tianzhu Peak, the highest summit, towers into the clouds, offering breathtaking views of the sea of clouds and sunrise. π 2. Qinglongbei evokes a sense of a dragon soaring through the sky; the scenery is even more captivating in person. π 3. Overlooking Danlian Lake or wandering along its shores, the scenic beauty of the mountains and waters is truly delightful.
Practical Tips: βοΈ Take the high-speed train to Qianshan Station and hop on the tourist bus (10 yuan per person) for a direct ride to the mountain. Return buses are also available, making transportation convenient. βοΈ We took the grand loop trail, starting our ascent at 7:30 and descending at 4:00 pm. With children, the pace was relatively slow, but this route allowed us to see all the highlights. βοΈ The park closes at 5:00 pm. If time is limited, you can opt for the smaller loop, descending from Tianchi Peak to Zongguanzhai. The Hundred-Step Cloud Ladder here is also stunning (see Figure 3). βοΈ Tianzhu Mountain is not only visually stunning but also rich in cultural and historical significance, from its Cretaceous granite landforms to the poems left by literati. It’s a wonderful place to bring children. βοΈ Refreshment stations are scarce during the climb, so remember to bring some snacks and water. A hiking pole is also recommended, and you can find one for just 1 yuan at the base. βοΈ The beauty of Tianzhu Mountain lies not only in its scenery but also in its deep cultural heritage.
