Three-Day Adventure in Xuancheng

Day 1: Upon arriving at Xuancheng Station at 11 am, we promptly hailed a cab for the short journey to our accommodation at the Hanting Hotel. The cost of the ride, split between two, was a mere 75 yuan, a testament to the affordable transportation in this city. The hotel, conveniently located across from the renowned Doufu Alley and its bustling food market, made it an ideal starting point for our exploration.

After settling in, we ventured out on foot to Er Ling Noodles, a local favorite recommended by locals. Despite its humble appearance, the noodles were surprisingly delicious, offering a taste of authentic local cuisine. With our bellies full, we returned to the hotel to freshen up before heading out to explore the China Crocodile Lake.

The next stop was the bustling Guogou shopping district, where we indulged in local delicacies such as Ningguo Baba, a meat and vegetable-filled bun that, despite its popularity, fell short of our expectations. However, the Wei’s Bubble Wonton, with its unique blend of flavors and a sprinkle of pepper, left a lasting impression.

Day 2 began with a hearty breakfast at the hotel, followed by a trip to Jingting Mountain. The scenic journey, punctuated by beautiful landscapes, was a highlight of our trip. Upon descending the mountain, we indulged in a satisfying meal of Ding’s Vermicelli, a local delicacy that exceeded our expectations.

Later, we embarked on a longer journey to the remote Chaji Ancient Architectural Complex. The scenic route, filled with lush greenery and rolling hills, was a journey in itself. Arriving at our accommodation, we rested briefly before exploring the charming streets of the town, filled with quaint shops and restaurants.

Day 3 dawned with another beautiful morning in Chaji. After a quick makeover and a tasty meal of preserved vegetable pie, we set out to explore the village’s scenic landscapes. The serene atmosphere, punctuated by the sounds of students sketching and the gentle flow of water, was a photographer’s paradise.

As our journey drew to a close, we bid farewell to Xuancheng with a heartfelt appreciation for its beauty and charm. While we may not return, the memories of this enchanting city will forever remain in our hearts.
