Rivaling the Abroad! Discover the Domestic Rio de Janeiro in Fujian

Surpassing the charm of foreign locales, I’ve discovered a hidden gem in Fujian that rivals the beauty of Rio de Janeiro. Welcome to the mini Rio of Fuzhou, a must-visit destination among domestic lesser-known tourist attractions! 🚝

Location: Qiguanding, Lianjiang County, Fujian Province

Entrance Fee: Free

Transportation: By self-driving, approximately 1 hour’s drive from the high-speed railway station. Upon arrival at Lianjiang Station, you can easily find shared car drivers offering rides to the base of the mountain for 40 yuan and to the summit for 60 yuan (less walking required).

Directions:

  • Directly navigate to “Qiguanding”. You’ll find a large stone monument at the foot of the mountain. The hiking trail begins right next to it, leading you to the summit in approximately 40 minutes – a simple and efficient route.
  • After navigating to Qiguanding, continue driving uphill on the mountain road, which includes dirt sections. Drive until you reach the walled archway. From there, it’s a 20-minute walk to the destination.

Photography enthusiasts will find excellent viewpoints without having to climb too high. The spots near the base of the mountain are already popular with influencers. Nearby, you may encounter professional aerial photographer Az, who offers exceptional services at an affordable price of 50 yuan per person. Although there may be a slight wait due to high demand, the results are definitely worth the patience – a memorable keepsake from your visit.
