π Transportation: Arrive at Yunxiao Station via high-speed rail. π Take Bus No. 15 for 10 yuan per person or carpool for 30 yuan per person. β Avoid online taxi services, as they can be quite expensive! (We spent around 170 yuan.) For island travel, π΅ scooters are convenient and require no deposit. We rented one for 50 yuan per day during peak season and 45 yuan per day during the low season. Shared scooters charge 1 yuan for every 5 minutes.
π Lodging: We recommend staying in Tongling Town, which is a hub for delicious foodπ and conveniently located for exploring the island. You don’t need to splurge on accommodations; we spent one day in Tongling Town and another in Jinluan Bay, experiencing both budget and higher-end options.
π Food: When dining at large restaurants, make sure to order from the menu with prices clearly marked. Avoid ordering takeout, as it can be pricey and not worth it. For more detailed food recommendations, please refer to our separate post.
π Attractions: Don’t miss out on the scenic spots of Nanmen Bay, Jinluan Bay, Su Feng Mountain Ring Road, Zuoer Tiantai Nanyu Sea, and Rock Cliff Lovers. π« Admission is free for most of these places. Before heading to Su Feng Mountain, make sure to swap your scooter’s battery at a rental shop to avoid running out of power mid-journey. β οΈ For Nanyu Sea, be mindful of the tide schedule and arrive 10-20 minutes early to avoid disappointment. β οΈ Rock Cliff Lovers and Nanyu Sea involve some climbing, so wear comfortable and sturdy shoes. If you’re not confident in your climbing skills, it’s best to avoid wilder, less-developed attractions like Aojiao Village. Safety first! β οΈ
