First Stop in Jiangxi: Mount Lu – A Family Trip with Mixed Emotions

Our journey to Jiangxi began with a visit to the renowned Mount Lu, a destination that promised scenic wonders. However, even before ascending the mountain, we had already shelled out a hefty sum of 980 yuan! Our early morning departure from the heart of Nanchang at 7 am saw us arrive at the cable car station by 8:30 am. Fortunately, we found a parking spot in the nearby parking lot, and without further ado, we queued up for our adventure. The tickets, thankfully, had been pre-purchased on Meituan, simplifying the process.

With a young child in tow, our strategy was to minimize walking as much as possible. The entrance fees were set at 160 yuan for adults and 80 yuan for children, while the roundtrip cable car ride cost 115 yuan for adults and 55 yuan for children. For the optional small cable car ride to view the waterfalls, the fees were 50 yuan for adults and 30 yuan for children. Additionally, the mandatory sightseeing bus, which provided convenient access to all attractions, carried a fee of 70 yuan for adults and 35 yuan for children.

Reflecting on our expenses, it becomes evident that a one-day trip without overnight accommodation on the mountain would be a significant financial loss. It is advisable to stay overnight and explore the area leisurely. Moreover, comments from fellow travelers warned that we had visited during a dry season, emphasizing the importance of thorough planning before embarking on such a trip.
